The Head, Group Business Performance role reports directly to the MD, Group Finance and is part of the Group CFO Organisation. As the Head of Group Business Performance, the incumbent will play a pivotal role in driving performance improvements and returns for the OpCos and Business Units through various strategic initiatives. Additionally, the candidate will take on the business management responsibilities for the OpCos within the Group.

The role involves leading the implementation of initiatives aimed at enhancing the Group's returns, streamlining financial and business processes, optimising revenue, and costs, conducting business performance reviews, and establishing new frameworks. The incumbent will also lead cross-functional teams on various projects.

This is a high-profile position requiring a strategic leader with strong financial and business acumen, collaborative leadership skills, and expertise in stakeholder engagement and management.

Make an Impact by:


Driving Performance Improvement and Returns for OpCo and Business Units

Lead a team to drive Return on Invested Capital (ROIC) initiatives across various OpCos and Regional Associates, focusing on maximizing ROIC and enhancing overall business performance. This includes identifying opportunities and developing strategies to boost revenue, optimize operating costs/capex, and streamline financial and business processes.
Establish and lead squads, develop action plans, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement these initiatives effectively.
Monitor and track the progress of initiatives, providing regular updates to the steering committee and key stakeholders.
Analyse market trends, industry benchmarks, and competitor performance to identify best practices and opportunities for improvement.
Stay abreast of industry developments, emerging technologies, and best practices related to ROIC optimization, and integrate relevant insights into strategic planning and decision-making.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to drive alignment, shift mindsets, and encourage collaboration.
Post implementation, continue to monitor and track the progress of initiatives to ensure alignment with and achievement of milestones and targets.
Success Metrics: Success is measured by the successful implementation of these initiatives and the resulting uplifts and benefits delivered.

Business Management Responsibilities for OpCos

Support board and shareholder representatives in key strategic and shareholder matters related to the OpCos. This includes periodic financial and business reviews, performance tracking, and KPI monitoring.
Review Board/Excom and sub-committee papers to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
Participate in business strategy development, potential partnerships, and strategic value creation initiatives.
Address other shareholder, audit, accounting, and group-wide risk matters as needed.

Skills for Success:


CFA/CPA or other Finance degree qualifications
Minimum 15 years experience in consulting advisory, M&A, financial role, and large accounting firm experience
Track record in finance business process improvements and performance management
Deep experience in the TMT industry
Strong project management skills; partnership & alliance development
Financial modelling & analysis, business strategy planning and execution
Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills Inspire and motivate teams to achieve strategic objectives, foster a collaborative environment and cultivate the culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Relationship building- excellent interpersonal skills with ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both within and across business units.
Adaptability- Flexibility on working in unstructured changing business environments while maintaining focus on long-term strategic goals.
