The role is to be accountable at regional level as Head of Business Development for the TotalEnergies Solar DG affiliate (SEA).
This includes finding and contracting with Joint Venture development partners, financing non-recourse debt, farming down planned % of Group equity and helping to build the processes and systems that will enable the development platform to be efficient and successful. Ensure strong project economics and safe project development.
- Support legal, fiscal, regulatory set-up of entities across the region.
- Develop, put in place and maintain processes for capital investment decisions.
- Build a Business Development team to cover the various functions as TSDG develops.
- To implement development and financial partnerships to grow TSDG faster.
- To work with TotalEnergies Solar / REN to put in place competitive project finance once projects are built and necessary scale reached. To then ensure that the administration processes to support the financing are maintained effectively
- To work with TotalEnergies Solar / REN to put in find and transact to farm down planned % of TotalEnergies at competitive economics of projects once operational. To then ensure that the administration processes to support the equity partner are effectively maintained
- To effectively work in the network of TotalEnergies in country teams, regulatory bodies, Business customers and business groups, financing institutions. To represent and protect Group interests.
- To fully understand and operate to REN and Group investment decision, compliance and financial rules / delegated authorities.
Noting for the above that at start of the role there is nothing in place and all has to be set up. Through the development of the role to begin to scale the business and implement the necessary automation and efficiencies needed as scale developed.
Noting that the affiliate operates in a very competitive environment and that strategies and actions need to be implemented constantly to drive competitivity.
Requirement
- Must have experience in capital investment decision-making, M&A (preferably in Asia).
- Proven ability to operate effectively with autonomy.
- Experience of tendering processes
- Commercial skills - ability to negotiate contracts with all levels of counterparty business.
- Understanding of risk (legal, construction, financial, regulatory) and ability to provide solutions to mitigate
- Communications and PR B2B experience.
- Knowledge of Group processes for compliance and operation.
- Ability to network and interact effectively with all parties impacting the business (regulatory, client, suppliers, Financial institutions, business partners other Group affiliates)
- Project financing knowledge and experience (supported by PF experts)
