Our client, one of the biggest technology companies in Asia, is looking for a Head of Engineering to oversee its Central Engineering Group, comprising Solution Architecture, Cloud, DevOps & SRE, Integration Engineering, Quality Assurance. In this role, you will get to:
Lead Technology Strategy and Architecture
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define and execute architecture roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business goals and technology strategies.
Own the end-to-end technical architecture across backend, frontend, cloud, APIs, and data systems, emphasizing scalable and reusable components.
Champion innovation by exploring emerging technologies, conducting proof-of-concept projects, and establishing strategic partnerships.
Oversee Engineering Teams and Operations
Provide leadership for engineering functions, , and Integration Engineering, fostering best practices across teams.
Manage and mentor Engineering Managers, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
Define and implement governance frameworks, ensuring alignment across engineering and architecture standards.
Drive Application Modernization and Cloud-Native Adoption
Lead the development of application modernization roadmaps, focusing on modular, cloud-native architectures that enable scalability and flexibility.
Oversee cloud infrastructure strategy, ensuring seamless integration, deployment, and performance optimization on platforms such as AWS and GCP.
Develop and promote reusable components, standards, and processes to improve efficiency and reduce duplication.
Collaborate with Product and Business Teams
Work closely with Product, Technology Heads, and business stakeholders to align technical strategies with business needs.
Partner with product teams to translate business goals into technical solutions and provide strategic input on technology adoption.
Act as a technical advisor to senior leadership, presenting architecture strategies, trade-offs, and recommendations to inform decision-making.
You'll be successful if you have:
Extensive leadership experience in large-scale, technology-driven companies, particularly in industries like Cloud providers, e-commerce, or digital marketplaces.
Deep technical expertise in cloud-native architectures, microservices, and DevOps methodologies, with practical experience in backend engineering (Java), frontend technologies, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP), and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
Proven ability to design and implement scalable, robust solutions in complex, high-volume environments.
Exceptional leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to inspire multidisciplinary teams, articulate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders, and align technical direction with organizational goals.
