Company Overview
Our client is one of the leading private equity investment firm based in China, It specializes in buyouts and growth investments across the Asia region, with selective investments in North America and Europe. As part of their aggressive expansion strategy, they have recently established an office in Singapore and are looking to hire a Head of Fund Finance and Operation to oversee fund finance and operations for their growing portfolio.
Position Summary: The Head of Fund Finance and Operation will be responsible for managing all aspects of fund finance operations in the Singapore office. The role will require the individual to provide strong leadership in managing the finance function efficiently and effectively. The role includes working closely with fund administrators, overseeing fund accounting, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This is a hands-on role that requires excellent communication skills and experience in private equity or alternative asset management.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the fund finance operations in the Singapore office.
- Work closely with fund administrators to ensure accurate and timely fund accounting and financial reporting.
- Develop and implement fund finance processes and controls to ensure efficient and effective operations.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Collaborate with the fund finance team in Beijing to align fund finance strategies and objectives.
- Lead the preparation of financial statements, investor reports, and other fund-related documentation.
- Provide transactional support for acquisitions with potential tasks including assisting with the structuring advice, set-up of investment structures in accordance with tax advice, creation of new entities and close liaison with investment team to ensure transaction closing from an operational standpoint is achieved.
- Responsible for fund/ deal structuring, valuation and support to fund raising efforts.
- Support the Investment team from a fund finance and operational perspective.
- Manage the coordination of audits and tax reporting for funds.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support investment decisions and fund strategies.
- Oversee cash management, capital calls, and distributions.
- Maintain strong relationships with external service providers, including auditors, tax advisors, and legal counsel.
- Prepare and present fund financial reports to senior management and investors.
- Lead and provide supervision/guidance to junior team members.
- Other ad-hoc projects and tasks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA, CPA, or equivalent) preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in fund finance or accounting, preferably within the private equity or alternative asset management industry.
- Experience in working within both big fund set up and small fund set up will be preferred.
- Strong knowledge of fund accounting, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience working with fund administrators and managing external service providers.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely.
- Fluency in Mandarin and English is highly desirable.
