Bubblegum is a digital platform built and owned by MoneySmart Financial that provides users with general insurance education, policy management capabilities, and a fuss-free application process for insurance coverage. Bubblegum was formed as an in-house brand and is in line with MoneySmart's vision to be everyone's trusted personal financial coach.
Mission
Bubblegum is building a new generation of insurance products that are consumer and digital first, in APAC. We are looking for a Head of Insurance to lead all operations, implement strategy, inform product development, distribution, regulatory compliance and ultimately customer success.
We are looking for someone with deep appreciation for the unique challenges of the insurance business, and the zeal and interest in wanting to create new products and user experience to be primarily digitally distributed. The recipe for success is combining Hunger, Humility and Smarts to lead the Bubblegum business into the future.
Responsibilities
Strategy
Work with the Executive team to inform a Bubblegum strategy that drives growth and profitability
Develop business plans to deliver shareholder value with a focus on ROI and optimising capital investment
Drive strong customer engagement and ownership utilising data to create understanding and in turn real solutions
Strive for market leadership in customer experience and satisfaction
Support the MoneySmart Marketplace Business with Insurance strategy and maximise synergies across both business units
Own the Business Unit P&L, targets and performance. Create clear financial forecasts and deliver against them, providing a narrative on successes and achievements to share with investors
Develop the leadership team and the capabilities needed to win
Commercial - Product Development
Own the roadmap, vision, and execution of our financial product development (product design, lines of business, etc.).
Work with the product and technology teams to bring insurance products to market in a way that delights customers through great pre-purchase and post-purchase experiences
Create and successfully launch new lines of attractive financial products that customers want and are profitable
Lead commercial negotiations with potential carriers and distribution partners
Maintain and build on existing carrier relationships to keep products relevant and fit for our customers and target segments with win-win outcomes for both parties (including monitoring, reporting and assessing profitability ratios)
Marketing and Distribution
Design cost effective distribution strategies
Secure distribution partnerships with digital partners
Drive engagement, cross sell and retention
Be an ambassador for the Bubblegum brand and further build our profile in the market
Digital Product Experience development
Drive an innovation agenda to create a great digital customer experience that is optimized and drives data and customer ownership over time
Operations
Own customer satisfaction through customer service, claims experience, online-to-offline sales journeys, reconciliation and reporting)
Build a culture of customer accountability and satisfaction into customer service and other operational touch points. Hire and train operational experts to provide best in class customer experience.
Design and set up scalable operations ready for expansion into new markets.
Keep the team motivated and aligned with the plan and drive retention and performance
Requirements
A minimum of 8 years experience in personal lines of insurance product development, ideally in multiple markets in the region
Intimate understanding of the insurance product development process from conception to scale in Singapore and other APAC markets
Deep understanding of challenges and opportunities facing consumers and insurers and experience in all aspects of the insurance value chain, especially in Singapore
Data driven - solid approach on how to leverage data across all functions of the business to create and maintain a competitive advantage
Digital distribution experience - deep understanding of how to drive distribution and CLTV via retention and cross sell
Extraordinary leadership ability and experience: high energy, motivation to work collaboratively and create the best working atmosphere. Challenges all ideas and enjoys being challenged.
