- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of Legal Counsel and Legal Assistants, fostering professional growth and high performance.
- Legal and Compliance: Design and execute legal and compliance strategies that support business objectives and meet industry standards and regulations. Provide training to ensure legal compliance across all levels.
- Policy Development: Develop, review, and enhance policies (e.g., data protection, terms of use, data transfer agreements, and service agreements) to ensure regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement.
- Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts and legal documents.
- Legal Advice and Guidance: Provide expert guidance on compliance, contract interpretation, dispute resolution, and operational legal matters.
- Internal Investigations: Lead internal investigations into potential compliance issues, legal disputes, or unethical conduct, ensuring thorough and prompt resolution.
- Client Feedback and Complaints: Manage and respond to feedback or complaints from clients and authorities, handling investigations and ensuring satisfactory outcomes.
- Risk Assessment: Perform risk assessments during client onboarding, including AML and due diligence processes, and conduct ongoing reviews.
- Additional Responsibilities: Take on any additional tasks as assigned by the company.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in law from a recognized university
- Min 5 years of relevant experience in both Singapore legal practice and in-house roles
- Prior leadership or managerial experience
- Strong knowledge of corporate governance and best practices
- Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills with the ability to simplify complex legal concepts
