As the Head of Microbiology Operations for Roche Singapore Technical Operations, you will support the Head of Microbiology and Direct Material in managing the Micro shift teams, ensuring efficient and safe laboratory operations. Your responsibilities include overseeing daily lab activities, conducting QC Micro testing, adhering to cGMP regulations, supporting manufacturing operations, driving process improvements, and participating in audits.
The Opportunity
Oversee all aspects of microbiology operations. Manage microbiological techniques, including QC testing for in-process and final product samples.
Perform Bioburden, Endotoxin, Sterility, Growth Promotion, and Biological Indicator testing.
Analyze environmental and utility monitoring samples.
Manage inventory of supplies and reagents, optimizing costs and resources.
Provide expertise on test methods and stay updated with advancements in the field.
Address microbiological deviations, environmental excursions, and human errors promptly. Ensure robust root cause analysis (RCA) and timely CAPA closure.
Monitor microbiological results for adverse trends and notify relevant parties.
Maintain training requirements for direct staff. Implement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and ensure EHS compliance.
Coach direct reports for career and personal growth and conduct annual performance evaluations.
Enhance communication across departments and collaborate with QC Support for system calibration and maintenance.
Who You Are
You hold a a degree in Degree in Microbiology, Biology, Biochemistry or related Science discipline or equivalent experience preferably with 8 years and above of related working experience and 4 or more years in managing team in biotech or pharmaceutical operating environment is preferred
Strong knowledge of microbiological laboratory operations in a manufacturing environment and thorough understanding of cGMP and applicable regulations. . In-depth knowledge of laboratory operations and experience with regulatory aspects of biologics API manufacture is highly desirable
A team player with high initiative, demonstrated planning skills and proven performance in problem solving.
Demonstrated ability to interact and work effectively across functional teams and at multiple levels within the organization
Proven organizational and supervisory skills to motivate and influence others to drive for results.
