The Head of Security Engineering will oversee and enhance the security architecture, managing the design and execution of all security engineering initiatives. This leader will drive both proactive and reactive security measures, collaborate across teams, and ensure the infrastructure, applications, and data are protected against modern threats.
Responsibilities:
- To perform security architecture review and Engineering; Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of secure systems and applications, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Drive the development of security architectures for new systems, applications, and infrastructure.
- Lead initiatives to assess and strengthen network, application, and data security across cloud and on-premise environments.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive security engineering strategy aligned with organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate security principles into overall business strategy.
- Develop and implement a robust layered security defense design and strategy, integrating multiple security controls across all network, application, and data layers to provide comprehensive protection against diverse and evolving threats.
- Conduct regular security assessments to identify gaps and weakness, address potential risks and propose improvement process.
- Lead and mentor a team of security engineers, to drive excellence, innovation, and collaboration.
- Ensure communication with stakeholders at all levels, managing perspectives and aligning expectations.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity or security engineering, with 5+ years in security architect or related role.
- Min 4+ years in a leadership role, with team management experience.
- Deep understanding of security principles across network, application, and infrastructure layers
- Experience in Security Engineering specifically for AWS cloud workloads is required
- Strong knowledge of scripting and automation tools for security engineering (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
- Certifications: Relevant security certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, CISA or AWS Certified Security, preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
