Our client, a leading Asian Bank is seeking a visionary professional to establish and lead its sustainability strategy within the Corporate Banking division. This is a pivotal role to integrate sustainable finance principles across client engagements and product offerings, driving the transition to a greener economy while meeting the bank's strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategy Development: Define and execute the sustainability strategy for Corporate Banking, aligning with global ESG standards and the bank's corporate objectives.
- Business Origination: Develop and grow the bank's sustainable finance portfolio by identifying opportunities in green bonds, sustainability-linked loans, and ESG-related advisory services.
- Client Engagement: Partner with corporate clients to assess and provide innovative financing solutions supporting their sustainability goals, including decarbonization and renewable energy projects.
- Policy Advocacy: Collaborate with industry bodies and regulators to advocate for and align with evolving sustainability frameworks and policies.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Build and lead a dedicated sustainability team while working with product, risk, and compliance teams to embed ESG principles into corporate banking products and services.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Sustainability, Environmental Studies, or related fields; advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CFA with ESG focus, GRI, or LEED) are preferred.
- Experience: At least 10 years of experience in corporate banking or sustainable finance, with a proven track record of implementing ESG strategies and developing sustainable finance products.
- Sustainability Expertise: In-depth understanding of ESG regulations, frameworks (e.g., TCFD, UNPRI, EU Taxonomy), and market trends impacting corporate banking.
- Leadership & Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and foster collaboration across internal and external networks.
- Client-Centric Approach: Strong relationship management skills with the ability to engage corporate clients on ESG priorities and deliver bespoke solutions.
