Key Responsibilities
- Assist nursing staff in providing direct care to elderly residents, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being.
- Help monitor residents health conditions, including checking vital signs and assisting with daily health assessments.
- Support the administration of medications, treatments, and therapies as prescribed.
- Aid in the development and updating of care plans under the guidance of nurses and doctors.
- Educate residents and their families about care routines, health conditions, and preventive measures.
- Assist with the admission and discharge processes, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed.
- Observe changes in residents health and report to the nurse in charge.
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, following infection control protocols.
- Provide emotional support to residents to enhance their mental and emotional well-being.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of nursing practices.
Qualifications
- At least a GCE O-Level or equivalent qualification.
- Completion of Healthcare Assistant (HCA) or related training is preferred.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, especially in long-term or geriatric care, is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Patient, empathetic, and compassionate in caring for elderly residents.
- Physically capable of assisting with resident mobility and other physical demands of the role.
