Healthcare Assistant (Sterile Unit)

Core Duties:

. Practice standard precautions and wear full personal protective equipment (PPE) during all work activities.

. Rinse all soiled surgical supplies and equipment and prepare them for mechanical cleaning.

. Assist in the assembling of simple instrument sets, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

. Ensure that all sterilized goods after sterilization are placed on the correct shelves, maintaining proper organization and inventory control.

. Load and unload supplies and equipment from terminal sterilizers, following proper procedures to prevent contamination.

Additional Duties:

. Pre-rinse medical equipment used in operating theatres to prepare for mechanical washing.

. Retrieve washed equipment, dry, ensure quality control and repack items into designated medical sets with accuracy and care.

. Load packed medical sets into the sterilization machine, ensuring all sets meet sterilization guidelines and quality standards.

. Perform portering duties as needed, assisting with the transport of supplies, equipment, and other materials within the facility.

. Complete any other duties as assigned by the department-in-charge, contributing to the smooth operation of the sterile processing department.

Job Requirements:

Minimum PSLE Certificate or equivalent

Able to read and write in simple English

Able to work on rotating shifts (including weekends & PH)

Able to work overnight shifts
