Summary
The QHSSE Superintendent is responsible for managing the Quality, Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (QHSSE) functions both on vessels and in the office. This position demands a strong commitment to compliance with the company's QHSSE Management System and adherence to industry best practices, including the ISM Code, ISPS Code, MLC 2006, OVID/OVMSA, and various ISO standards

Key Responsibilities
- Safety Leadership: Drive safety initiatives and practices throughout the organization.
- Management System Oversight: Oversee and enhance the QHSSE management system on vessels, identifying areas for improvement.
- Documentation: Prepare or revise vessel-specific manuals, maintain QHSSE records, and review month-end documentation and risk assessments.
- Program Execution: Implement QHSSE programs and monitor related activities on board.
- Training and Orientation: Conduct crew inductions, briefings, and training sessions to promote safety awareness.
- Incident Oversight: Manage incident reporting, conduct investigations and root cause analyses, and ensure appropriate documentation and resolution.
- Audits and Inspections: Carry out internal audits and inspections while supporting external audits to uphold safety standards.
- Client Engagement: Address QHSSE deficiencies and fulfill client requirements, including documentation and project-related management systems.
- Collaborative Support: Assist the marine superintendent with QHSSE tasks and serve as an Alternate Designated Person Ashore (DPA) and Alternate Company Security Officer (CSO).
- Travel Flexibility: Travel to vessels, ports, shipyards, and offshore locations for audits, inspections, and training as necessary.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned by the QHSSE manager.
Job Requirements
- Certifications:
- ISM / ISPS / ISO Internal Auditor Certificate
- DPA / CSO Certificate
- Accident/Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis Certificate
- Previous BOSIET training
- Experience: At least 5 years in marine-related QHSSE roles.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Operational Knowledge: Familiarity with offshore and onshore operations; seafaring experience is a plus.
- Travel Readiness: Must be able to travel on short notice.
