Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Human Resources Officer/Executive to join our team. This role will play a key part in managing various HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, payroll, and compliance with company policies and labor regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a passion for fostering a positive work environment. The role also involves overseeing key administrative tasks and compliance with relevant regulations, particularly in a construction-related context.
Key Responsibilities:
HR Administration & Compliance:
- Maintain accurate employee records, including personal details, performance appraisals, and disciplinary actions.
- Ensure compliance with local labor laws, employment standards, and company policies.
- Assist in preparing HR reports, payroll processing, administering employee benefits and claims processing.
- Oversee payroll, tax, CPF (Central Provident Fund), and foreign worker levy matters.
Recruitment & Onboarding:
- Assist in the end-to-end recruitment process, including posting job openings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks.
- Prepare employment contracts and ensure smooth onboarding for new hires.
- Organize orientation sessions to familiarize new employees with company policies and procedures.
Administrative Duties:
- Track and manage company assets, including computer software licenses, vehicle insurance, and road tax renewals.
- Handle ad hoc administrative tasks as required to support overall business operations.
Employee Relations:
- Act as a point of contact for employee queries regarding HR policies, employee benefits, and workplace issues.
- Mediate and resolve conflicts between employees and management, fostering a positive workplace culture.
- Support initiatives that promote employee engagement, retention, and satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in HR or a related role.
- Diploma in Human Resources or related fields
- Prior experience working in construction or related industries is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of HR functions, labor laws, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) experience with HR software is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in handling payroll, CPF, tax, and foreign worker levy administration.
- Familiarity with HR metrics and data analysis.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
