About the job
The Associate IBWS Manager reports to an IBWS Head and works under the supervision of IBWS senior managers to whom they have been assigned for specific tasks.
The Associate IBWS Manager documents learnings from school support initiatives and acts as an advocate for internal changes needed to better serve schools. The role focuses on promoting the increased depth and breadth of programme development. The Associate IBWS Manager may be called upon to supervise Lead Educators and to liaise with regional associations. Suitable candidates need to be bilingual in English and Japanese (mother tongue level both in reading and writing) due to nature of portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Program Evaluation Process: Assist in ensuring quality service in programme evaluation to ensure schools meet programme requirements during the preliminary review phase and are prepared to undertake the self-study and visitation/reading.
Liaise with School Delivery and IBEN to ensure events are staffed with appropriate IBEN; troubleshoot as necessary
Finalize reports by IB Educators following school visits: Monitor the progress of all elements of reporting to ensure that reports are completed and returned to schools in a timely manner
Educator and Lead Educator Development: Coordinate the planning, development and monitoring of IB practitioners training.
Ensure that IBWS agreements regarding programme standards and practices are adhered to.
Monitor and support Evaluation Follow Up Visits, Return Visits and Unannounced Exam Visits.
Contribute to IBWS and Schools Office projects and initiatives as required.
About you
University degree
Ideally some experience in education, preferably in an IB World School;
Knowledge of at least one IB programme preferred; knowledge of multiple programmes an advantage
Experience as an IBEN member a plus
Bilingual in English and Japanese (mother tongue level both in reading and writing) desirable due to nature of portfolio
