The Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Engineer acts within the boundaries of the contract to support the Operations/Engineering Manager and ILS Manager of the Long Term Service Support (LTSS) for the delivery of contractual services for the SMRT Circle Line (CCL).
To this effect, the ILS Engineer of the CCL LTSS contract, functions as a critical member of the Project Core Team in the successful completion of their assigned tasks within schedule, allocated budgets and scope to the required quality. The ILS Engineer is responsible in supporting the ILS Manager and/or Supply Chain team in ensuring adequate materials level for all planned maintenance tasks and work alongside the Authority / the Operators fleet maintenance planner to align material forecasts with fleet maintenance plans, ensuring adequate stock levels are available at the correct times.
The ILS Engineer shall provide vital support to the ILS Manager and Operations/Engineering Manager to ensure Project Core Team members have sufficient financial and reporting governance and to ensure all risks and opportunities are properly addressed and mitigated.
Functional duties to the LTSS team:
- Responsible for developing and maintaining a material demand forecasting system together with the Material Manager ensure adequacy of inventory levels in accordance to Operators planned maintenance packages.
- Responsible for inventory optimisation together with the ILS Manager to maintain contract inventory service level.
- Responsible for performance tracking to ensure parts availability to avoid impact to fleet reliability/availability.
- Responsible in preparing and reporting of ILS and OPS performance to the Project Core Team.
- Responsible for the coordination between internal and external agencies to place requests and monitoring for the repairs of assemblies, including maintaining a pool of serviceable components.
- Responsible to assist and provide operation and technical support to the Project Core Team.
-Responsible for working alongside the Authority / the Operators Fleet Maintenance and/or Supply Chain team to align material forecasts with fleet maintenance plans, ensuring adequate stock levels are available at the correct times.
- Responsible for all communication with internal Project Core Team including Operations, Engineering and Warehouse teams regarding all ILS contractual obligations.
- It is also the mandate of the ILS Engineer in co-ordinating all ILS activities together with the ILS Manager to streamline the allocation of work packages between the roles and the day-to-day delegation of special tasks to the Core Team members in order to optimize the total project
- The ILS Engineer has a specific communication responsibility to the ILS Manager and Project Managers of contractual partners.
Education
Degree level in mechanical/electrical with 3-4yrs of related working experience
OR
Diploma level in mechanical/electrical with 6-8yrs or related working experience
Relevant experience required
Good communication skills at all levels.
Customer engagement and management in delivering high standard of service.
Working experience either in Project Management, ILS or Supply Chain/Warehouse.
Proficient in MS office applications which shall include SAP ERP systems.
Understanding and interpreting commercial and contractual documents to execute obligations
Technical competency and understanding of Rolling Stock systems will be an added advantage
