We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal Counsel to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial for managing our company's daily business contracts, engaging with the board on shareholder agreements, and liaising with external law firms. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in the regulatory environment of Singapore and adept in handling complex legal issues within the financial sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of legal documents including but not limited to business contracts and corporate agreements to support the company's operations.
- Corporate Governance: Handle legal matters related to the board of directors, including preparation and review of shareholder agreements and other related documents.
- Regulatory Compliance: Work closely with regulatory bodies in Singapore, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations. Act as the main point of contact for all legal issues, including liaising with external partners and law firms.
- Strategic Advisement: Provide strategic legal advice to senior management on business and legal risks, company policies, and strategy implementation.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7 years of legal experience, ideally within the financial services industry in Singapore.
- Law degree from a recognized university.
- Strong proficiency in both English and Mandarin to cater to business dealings and documentations.
- Experience working with Singapore's regulatory bodies is highly desirable.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to handle complex legal issues effectively
Preferred:
- Experience with international finance and familiarity with the legal landscape of major markets outside Singapore is a plus.
- Background in dealing with corporate law and financial regulations.
