Job Description

Role Purpose:


Identifies, develops, guides, and promotes engineering teams to deliver core new product introduction activities including:

Design for excellence (DfX)
Product data readiness
Assembly line design concepts
Product cost estimations
Support the creation/addition of standard assembly lines, tooling, etc.
Oversight/accountability to ensure program success.
Executes estimates for manufacturing cost, determines time standards, and ensure completeness and accuracy in manufacturing design plans & specifications including but not limited to recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines.
Interfaces with design engineering in coordinating the release of new products. Ensure active engagement with ISC Integration Managers to support the NPI process and metrics. Owns and maintains Manufacturing Engineering resource management process and tools for launching new products.
Responsibilities include overseeing skill development of engineering teams supporting industrialization of new products.

Establishes organizational goals and KPIs to measure and improve organization effectiveness.
Leads a global engineering organizations process execution and people development.
Makes a difference in the organizations success by improving time to market for our products.
Executes strategy, leveraging multiple internal, external, direct, and indirect relationships in a global environment.
Resource management, organization of 20 individuals
Assign and allocate work to the resource pool based on project priorities, project schedule, skills development objectives and time to market considerations.
Drive enhanced technical and leadership competencies within the team.
Exhibits excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Skills, Knowledge, Experience and Education

Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent degree or education
Minimum of 8 years experience in engineering
Minimum of 3 years in team leadership or management
Management experience in a globally focused environment.
Ability to influence change and build effective partnerships in a matrix environment.
Experience working in a large global company with responsibility for both direct and indirect reports.
Experience working with discrete assembly processes and new product design/development.
Experience with agile product development methodologies such as SAFe, Project Management, Design for Excellence Df(X), and Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies.
Stays current in the state of the art technologies and talent.

Information Processing Capability (Factors of Complexity)

Little direct supervision, manages the coordination of activities and held responsible for results.
Represents a portion of the workforce to support Operational Excellence of NPI and CE product launches and need to collaborate with other regional People Management leads.
Able to plan 6 months out at a very detailed level and 2 years out at a strategic level.
Overseeing multiple programs simultaneously
This role must be able to apply the interpersonal skills required to lead, influence, motivate and resolve conflict within a team environment to meet program goals efficiently

Accepts Role Requirements

Global and domestic (U.S.) travel of approximately 5-15%
Holds accountability for performance and results.
Ability to operate, respond, and work in multiple time zones as required.
Accountable for hiring, terminations, coaching, performance feedback, accountability for team assigned work and setting priorities.

Achieving Design for Excellence outcomes through resource assignment to support:

Product quality targets
Project schedules
Product cost targets
Realization of assembly specification requirements
Productivity targets
Adhering to CPD process requirement for all NPI/CE Projects through team member assignments
Reducing onboarding time for new employees and showing continuous improvement on employees product knowledge across multiple business.
