Job Description

This position is for individuals who have a passion for teaching, love working with young children, and believe in developing children to achieve competencies for future success. This position reports to the centre principal and works closely with centre teachers.

Role Description

As an Infant Educator at Bright Kids School House, you will be responsible for caring for infants and toddlers aged 2 months to 18 months. Your day-to-day tasks will include maintaining a safe and stimulating environment for infants and toddlers, providing nutritious meals, and developing age-appropriate activities to facilitate development.

Work Location: Block 641, Jurong West St 61, #01-38, Singapore (640641)

  • Be in-tune with the needs of young children.
  • Fosters a quality learning environment. This is done via the carrying out of a progressive and culturally sound curriculum.
  • Be sensitive to each child's needs (in a group setting) via respectful, reciprocal interactions and relationships.
  • Provide routine care such as bathing, diapering
  • Follow curriculum framework to plan and provide teaching and care.
  • Follow health, safety, nutritional and hygiene standards.
  • Help to watch and document children's learning.
  • Provide warmth and care to instil a sense of security in children.
  • Review how children learn and grow.
  • Take part in constant learning and reflective practices.
  • Takes charge in building trust and respectful partnerships with parents and families.
  • Aids the centre in engaging the community.
  • Actively joins and aids in centre initiatives.
  • Fosters teamwork and promotes good relationships with colleagues.
  • Understand the centre's vision, mission and values.
  • Uphold ethics and professionalism.
  • Use emotional competence to manage self at the workplace

Requirements:

  • Certified with HCIC/ACEY is an advantage
  • Must have a passion for helping young children learn and grow
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with children, families, and colleagues
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Experience caring for infants and toddlers in a licensed childcare center or similar role
  • Knowledge of infant and toddler development, as well as experience in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities
