Munich Re is one of the top providers of reinsurance, primary insurance, and insurance-related risk solutions in the world. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to join the Global Epidemic Risk Solutions team (ERS). The ERS unit develops new risk transfer solutions for epidemic and pandemic risks for the private and public sector. Epidemic outbreaks of infectious diseases can impact companies, the economy and insurers portfolios severely as the current COVID-19 outbreak demonstrates, once again.
By better understanding and evaluating epidemic risk exposure we work on establishing a new insurance market segment. Munich Re's ERS team consists of experts from various fields (e.g. pricing, underwriting and epidemiology) and provides a one-stop shop for companies aiming at protecting themselves against the adverse effects of an epidemic outbreak or pandemic.
This internship period will be from January - May 2025.
Your Role:
- Support ERS underwriting activities.
- Collect and analyze loss information from various markets and business sectors.
- Create pitch presentations for external and internal stakeholders.
- Support project management and coordinate across teams, cooperation partners and clients.
- Perform analyses of markets and key performance indicators of businesses.
- Provide economic expertise for developing insurance solutions for private and public sector transactions.
Your Profile:
- Undergraduate student in marketing, business/economics, communications is preferred.
- Prior internship experience to marketing, research, business/economics, customer relationship management, communications and regional responsibilities will be an advantage.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Exhibits proactiveness, good attention to details and a keen attitude to learn.
- Creative, ability to see ideas and concepts from different perspectives.
- Work and collaborate within a team environment and ability to multi task.
- Strong skillset in Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, Outlook)
