As a Labcorp intern, you will have the opportunity to support meaningful assignments that complement an education in STEM+ Business and Healthcare disciplines, and are inspiring and valuable in our mission to improve health and improve lives across the globe. About Team:
The Clinical Biochemistry Laboratory offers a comprehensive repertoire of laboratory tests ranging from renal, liver, cardiac, respiratory functions to highly specialized tests for hormones, tumor markers, trace metals, vitamins and therapeutic drug monitoring to help clinicians in the diagnosis and management of a wide variety of diseases. Analyses of biochemical constituents are conducted in blood, urine, and other body fluids (such as cerebrospinal fluid, pleural fluid, ascitic fluid, etc). You will learn about the various assays and their applications which are essential for clinical and commercial application which has facilitated the discovery of new diagnostics and treatments to manage a wide array of diseases.
· Student will gain real-world experience working as part of a drug development team in the laboratory.
· Perform quality control testing, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
· The intern will be trained in pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical aspects of the department workflow and the applications of various assays.
· Instruction and mentorship will be provided.
· At the end of training, the student will do presentation to fulfill his/her understanding in the project assignment.
Internship Assignment Summary:
· This program will provide students with valuable, hands-on experience and student will gain clinical experience working in the laboratory of a drug development company.
· Attend laboratory modules linked to quality control management, pipetting skills and the various informatics labware.
· Engage in professional development workshops to enhance your soft skills and professional presence.
· Good Laboratory Practice.
Education/Qualifications/Skills:
· Open to current undergraduate with Bachelor of Science degree (Biological Sciences/Biomedical).
· Good organization and multitasking ability.
· Able to communicate effectively with excellent verbal/written communication skills.
· Exceptional problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
· Creative and self-motivated individual who works collaboratively in a high performance team environment.
