Location: Singapore: occasional travel required

Collaborating closely with regional management and participating in global collaboration efforts as the senior APAC point person as required, responsibilities include:

Responsibilities:


Supervision of issues management. Supervising the mapping of public policy and regulatory issues of relevance to Bank of Americas business across the APAC region as well as issues relevant for Bank of America as a major global financial institution that might emerge from the region; identifying new issues on an ongoing basis; prioritising the issues; monitoring and reporting on developments. This should explicitly and in depth cover regulatory developments in relation to environmental and social policy.
Supervision of political and policy monitoring. Following general political and policy trends across the APAC region, supervising the analysis and reporting on how these might impact Bank of Americas prioritised regulatory issues.
Analysis and advocacy. Lead and be responsible for the development of advocacy strategies, positions and plans to ensure positive positioning of Bank of America among regulatory, environmental and social circles across APAC, as well as effective engagement on the key regulatory and public policy issues important to Bank of Americas business. Supervise the production of quantitative and qualitative analysis, as well as lead the drafting of advocacy material (presentations, position papers, message books, speeches, and other outreach material) to get Bank of Americas messages across effectively.
Supervision of outreach coordination. Be responsible for the practical implementation of Bank of Americas APAC government relations activities, including leading the involvement with industry associations or other networking groups, participating in the organisation of Bank of America-sponsored events, and meeting organisation and logistics for senior Bank of America executives. Supervise or carry out the drafting of background briefings, messages and as required speeches to prepare the participation of senior executives at these occasions. Manage Bank of Americas government affairs, environmental and social (ESG) policy consultancy relationships in the region, as required.

Skills required:


Excellent understanding and awareness of the public policy environment, ideally across the entire APAC region
Knowledge of and experience with financial services regulation, especially in the field of environmental and social policy
Knowledge of and experience with the political, regulatory, and supervisory stakeholders relevant across the region
Excellent English both verbally and in writing; ability to draft succinct reports and other material in English is essential
Ability to work directly with senior, international executives, is essential
Willingness and ability to work closely in a global team composed of highly skilled individuals with an international background is essential.
University degree from a relevant field, for example international relations, public policy, economics, business administration and/or ESG
15 years of relevant work experience in Government body, supervisory authorities, trade associations, financial services industry, consultancies
