Key Responsibilities:
Consulting & Analysis:
Serve as the subject matter expert on Managed File Transfer (MFT) technologies and solutions, providing guidance on industry best practices.
Analyze client business and technical requirements to develop customized MFT solutions, ensuring compliance with pharmaceutical industry standards and regulations.
Collaborate with client stakeholders to understand data transfer needs, and assess existing infrastructure, workflows, and security requirements.
Solution Design & Integration:
Lead the design and integration of MFT solutions (such as IBM Sterling, Globalscape, or Axway) into the client's enterprise systems, ensuring seamless interoperability with ERP, CRM, and other business-critical applications.
Develop and implement integration strategies for secure, automated file transfers between internal and external systems (partners, suppliers, regulators).
Ensure that file transfers meet stringent regulatory requirements (e.g., 21 CFR Part 11, GDPR) and pharmaceutical data security standards.
Project Management & Delivery:
Lead end-to-end project delivery, from solution design to implementation and post-deployment support.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams (internal IT, vendors, and third-party service providers) to ensure timely and effective deployment.
Oversee testing phases to ensure the integrity, performance, and security of MFT solutions.
Security & Compliance:
Ensure all managed file transfer processes comply with pharmaceutical industry regulations, including data encryption, authentication, and audit logging.
Recommend and implement best practices for securing file transfer workflows to mitigate risks of data breaches or compliance violations.
Troubleshooting & Support:
Provide troubleshooting support and expert-level problem resolution for any MFT-related issues, including data transfer failures, security concerns, and performance bottlenecks.
Offer ongoing training and support to client teams for system administration and operational excellence in MFT solutions.
Continuous Improvement & Optimization:
Monitor and analyze the performance of MFT solutions, identifying areas for improvement and optimization.
Proactively recommend enhancements or upgrades to MFT systems based on emerging technologies and evolving business needs.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Relevant certifications in MFT technologies or systems integration are a plus.
Experience:
7+ years of experience in IT consulting or solution architecture, with at least 5 years focused on Managed File Transfer (MFT) solutions and integrations.
Extensive experience working with MFT platforms such as IBM Sterling, Axway, or Globalscape.
Proven experience in designing and deploying MFT solutions in highly regulated industries, particularly pharmaceutical, healthcare, or life sciences.
Strong background in working with security protocols (SSL/TLS, PGP, SFTP, AS2, etc.) and data privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA, 21 CFR Part 11, GDPR).
Technical Skills:
Expertise in integrating MFT with enterprise systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, ERP systems).
Strong knowledge of file transfer protocols and encryption methods.
Hands-on experience with automation tools and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash) for MFT processes.
Familiarity with cloud-based MFT solutions and hybrid environments.
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Proven leadership and collaboration skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams.
Desired Skills:
Experience in Agile project management methodologies.
Prior experience in the pharmaceutical or life sciences sector.
