We are seeking a skilled and motivated IT Operations & Support Engineer with expertise in on-premises cloud virtualization and infrastructure management. This role is critical for ensuring robust performance, security, and reliability of our IT infrastructure, including virtualized environments, network components, and cloud services. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, administering, and monitoring a wide range of infrastructure elements, conducting troubleshooting, performing capacity management, and supporting continuous operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Infrastructure Management & MonitoringManage, administer, and monitor all aspects of on-premises infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and uptime. Build, configure, and troubleshoot infrastructure components as needed to support business requirements. Conduct capacity planning, generate reports, and recommend improvements.
Virtualization & Cloud ManagementProvision new virtual machines and cloud resources on request. Troubleshoot cloud-related issues, escalate to vendors or stakeholders when necessary. Ensure compliance with patch management policies and leverage scripting (e.g., PowerShell) for automation tasks. Administer and monitor AWS services, including EC2, CloudWatch, RDS, VPC, and Storage Services.
Networking & SecuritySupport and manage Nutanix HCI and network devices including Aruba & Cisco switches, A10 vThunder Load Balancers, and Checkpoint Firewalls. CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete) management and monitoring of devices to ensure reliable and secure operation. Administer Active Directory (AD), DNS, M365, MS Teams, and certificates, including external certificates.
System AdministrationSupport a mixed OS environment, primarily Windows (90%) with some Linux (10%). Provision and configure new machines, maintaining consistent performance across environments. Perform patch compliance checks and updates, utilizing patch management tools effectively.
Backup & Recovery ManagementManage Veeam backup solutions, including agent and policy configuration. Monitor backup status and troubleshoot any issues, escalating to vendors when needed. Support disaster recovery (DR) exercises and ensure backup processes align with recovery objectives.
Security & Monitoring ToolsPreferred experience with CyberArk, SolarWinds, and Tanium for enhanced security and monitoring.
IT Service Management (ITSM)Utilize ITSM/ITIL best practices and ServiceNow for incident, service request, and change management. Ensure ownership and timely resolution of tickets, with accurate updates and implementation of required changes.
Standby & Maintenance SupportParticipate in a 24x7 on-call rotation for incident response and planned maintenance activities. Complete rostered duties, planned maintenance, and provide timely support during scheduled DR exercises.
Key Qualifications:
Experience: 3-5+ years in infrastructure administration, virtualization, and cloud management.
Technical Skills:Proficiency in managing on-premises and cloud-based virtual environments. Working knowledge of Nutanix HCI, Aruba & Cisco Switches, A10 vThunder Load Balancer, and Checkpoint Firewall. Strong background in AD, DNS, M365, MS Teams, and certificate management. Familiarity with AWS (EC2, CloudWatch, RDS, VPC, Storage Services). Backup management using Veeam knowledge of CyberArk, SolarWinds, Tanium is advantageous. Experience with scripting (PowerShell) for automation is preferred. Familiarity with ITSM/ITIL processes and hands-on experience with ServiceNow.
Additional Skills:Strong problem-solving abilities and escalation management. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work in a 24x7 standby rotation and handle high-priority issues as they arise.
