IT Support Officer (End User Support/Computer Operations)

Job Description

Responsibilities:

- Provide first-level helpdesk and end-user support.

- Install and configure computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and handheld scanners.

- Monitor and maintain computer systems and network infrastructure, including patch panels, UPS, routers, switches, wireless access points, firewalls, internet connectivity, and VPN connections.

- Administer and manage both physical and virtual servers, including patching and updates.

- Manage user accounts in Active Directory and LDAP.

- Troubleshoot system and network issues, diagnosing and resolving hardware or software faults.

- Repair equipment and replace components as needed.

- Manage backup operations.

- Provide support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports.

- Assist in the rollout of new applications.

- Maintain records of software licenses.

- Manage IT assets, inventory, and other IT supplies.

- Source and coordinate with vendors for procurement, maintenance, and support matters.

- Test and evaluate new technologies.

Requirements

- Hands-on experience in an end-user IT support role or computer operations environment.

- Experience in installing, setting up, configuring, migrating, upgrading, and maintaining servers, PCs, operating systems, software, and other related peripherals.

- Strong troubleshooting skills for Windows 10 and 11.

- Knowledge of Windows Server 2012, 2016, and 2021.

- Experience managing Active Directory and user email accounts, as well as working with Symantec Endpoint Protection and Veritas Backup Exec familiarity with virtualization, preferably VMware.

- Basic understanding of networking protocols (DNS, DHCP, VLAN) with advanced troubleshooting skills for printers and peripheral devices.

- Provide support for handheld smartphones and tablets.

- Ensure compliance with the company's IT security policies.

- Manage patching processes.

- Ability to work independently while handling day-to-day IT support tasks, demonstrating good analytical problem-solving, time management, and decision-making skills.
