JOB SUMMARY
Perform specimen receipt, routine lab operation and assigned activities.
Support all quality assurance activities and maintain good documentation.
Support research projects
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
SPECIFIC (90%)
Lab Operation
Perform sample receipt
Process samples and nucleic acid extraction (DNA/RNA)
Update QC, specimen, waste disposal and equipment logs
Prepare packing list and update tracking logs for send-out tests
Operate and maintain equipment
Monitor inventories to ensure adequate consumables and reagents.
Support lab administrative activities related to purchasing, laboratory information systems and accreditation
Comply with safety regulations and procedures stipulated by the laboratory and hospital.
Support the labs research activities.
Ensure laboratory cleanliness and perform assigned lab duties.
Quality Control
Follow processes that meet the lab licensing and accreditation requirements.
Keep accurate records of work undertaken.
Participate in internal and external quality assurance programs.
Ensure all changes to the scope, test kits, methodology of the assays are documented and approved by the Lab Director.
Improve and enhance operational processes.
GENERAL (10%)
Any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor / Lab Director.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
(A) EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Diploma in medical laboratory
(B) TRAINING/SKILLS REQUIREMENT
Proficient in basic office applications (Word, Excel etc).
Experience with laboratory is desirable but not essential.
Meticulous and able to follow procedures.
Excellent organizational and data management skills.
Able to work in a team environment with good interpersonal skills.
EXPERIENCE
Prior lab experience is a plus. Fresh graduate may apply.
