RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for cooking, preparing, washing and storing of all food produce efficiently. Required to exercise high standards of overall safety, cleanliness and hygiene within the kitchen area at all times, including:
- Delivery and collection of food using food warmer trolley or food bag for every meal.
- Basic Cooking and food preparation.
- To do dishwashing and ensure cleanliness for all crockeries, utensils, equipment and melamine.
- To clean and sanitize the food warmer and transport trolleys after every meal.
- To dispose food waste into proper waste bins and transport down to disposable green bins at bin centre.
- To do food plating in the kitchen for all residence levels according to diet requirements.
- To take note of diet change and ensure that diets are served correctly according to requirements (e.g. pureed, minced/chopped, normal & special diet)
- To ensure precise food proportioning of meat, vegetables and rice for meals provided.
- Ensure strict adherence to good food and personal hygiene practices at all times.
- Perform timely housekeeping within the kitchen premises and dry store.
- Duties requires heavy lifting at times ( e.g. Able to top-up 25kg rice sack into container)
- Any ad-hoc duties as assigned by the management.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum Primary School Education
- Able to understand and speak basic English
- Those without the necessary certificate will be required to attend and pass the basic course and even refresher exam (when required)
- Those who possess Certificate in Basic Food Hygiene will have an advantage
- Class 3 driving license will have an advantage
- Physically Fit and able to stand for long hours
- Able to carry heavy load if required
