KYC Specialist
Contract role for 12 months with a possibility to extend or to go perm!
Basic Pay + Completion Bonus
This role is for my client, the world's largest asset manager who delivers a diverse range of solutions across asset classes.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform KYC due diligence for new and existing clients across multiple APAC regions, acting as either Maker or Checker.
- Conduct client background checks to identify PEPs and adverse news that could impact the bank's reputation.
- Collaborate with Front Office and Client Office teams to collect and verify KYC documents.
- Escalate complex cases to Compliance or Financial Security for further review.
- Mentor junior team members and share KYC knowledge across departments.
- Maintain client data in the KYC database and ensure accurate records for reporting.
- Support monthly reconciliations of KYC statuses and client accounts.
- Coordinate with the Client Office to prioritize tasks and ensure timely delivery.
- Escalate potential issues to management promptly.
- Participate in discussions, both locally and globally, and contribute to transformation projects.
- Build strong internal relationships to deliver excellent customer service.
- Engage in regular reviews of Periodic Review cases with stakeholders.
- Assist with projects and User Acceptance Testing as needed.
- Handle ad-hoc screenings and other assigned duties
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Banking, Finance, or related field.
- 2-3 years of KYC/CDD experience, ideally in Corporate Investment Banking, with knowledge of AML/CFT and KYC processes.
- Familiarity with KYC regulations in Asia (e.g., HKMA, MAS, CBRC).
- Strong communication skills in English and Mandarin; proficiency in reading Simplified and Traditional Chinese as this role will cover Chinese speaking market
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently, with a focus on timely delivery.
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Excel is a plus.
