Job Summary
Laboratory Technician reports to the Laboratory Manager and supports laboratory operations by:
Carrying out standard laboratory tests.
Assisting more senior laboratory technicians in carrying out non-standard laboratory tests.
Preparing and cleaning up test settings within time, budget and quality requirements.
Working within clearly defined standard operating procedures.
Works with close supervision.
Requires preparatory vocational education (VMBO) and limited prior relevant training or work experience.
About the Role
Carry out laboratory tests and provide results of the soil samples taken from onshore or offshore.
Assist project manager and engineers with onboard routine test result and data processing.
Ensure traceability and proper handling of soil samples.
Mobilise and demobilise equipment for projects.
Perform inventory and maintenance checks.
Ensure the process conforms to customer, statutory and management system requirements.
Perform other laboratory related operations as and when required.
Perform routine laboratory tests on vessel during offshore soil investigations.
About you
Diploma in Civil Engineering / G.C.E. O or N Level or equivalent.
Relevant experience in soil testing industry.
Good analytical ability, organisational and time management skills.
Self-driven, possess excellent team spirit and good interpersonal skills.
Preferably proficient in MS office applications.
Willing to work on vessel for offshore site investigation work.
Willing to travel to other countries for work purposes as and when requested by the company.
