The School of Law at the Singapore Management University was established in August 2007 with the mission to build a collegial team of excellent researchers and teachers and to nurture lawyers who will lead and serve the community with distinction. Our programmes (currently comprising a 4-year LLB programme, a postgraduate Juris Doctor programme and the LLM programme) aim to produce holistic graduates who understand law in context, and who are able to think across disciplines and geographical borders. Non-tenure track faculty plays a vital role in contributing to teaching, research and service. They should a greater responsibility for teaching. Successful applicants will be appointed to the ranks of Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, Principal Lecturer, Senior Lecturer or Lecturer as is commensurate with their qualifications, achievements and experience, with renewable contracts lasting up to five years.
Applicants for the non-tenure track should ordinarily have a first degree in law a postgraduate degree in law from reputable law schools. Applicants who do not possess a postgraduate degree in law are welcome to apply if they are able to demonstrate a strong publication record and relevant experience in teaching, legal practice, government, international organisations, or the judiciary.
