The Role:
This position involves the preparation of technical specifications, construction drawings, and design documents for instrumentation and control systems in process and industrial plants. The role requires coordinating with multiple teams to ensure project delivery within established schedules and budget constraints.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design efforts for field instrumentation and control systems, including the preparation and review of design documents.
- Manage small to medium-sized projects, ensuring adherence to allocated man-hours, costs, and timelines.
- Draft and review specifications, technical bid evaluations (TBE), and vendor documentation for instrumentation, analyzers, and control systems (DCS, ESD, F&G).
- Develop construction-related drawings, such as IO lists, location layouts, hook-up diagrams, and cable routing plans.
- Select and evaluate appropriate instruments for process control and monitoring applications.
- Estimate billable man-hours (BMBQ) and contribute to technical proposal development for tenders.
- Compile monthly project reports, participate in client meetings, and ensure alignment with project milestones.
- Collaborate with project teams and oversee the daily task assignments for team members.
- Perform factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), loop checks, and provide support during commissioning.
- Support field activities during construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning phases.
The Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Instrument and Control Engineering.
- At least 15 years of experience in instrument and control system design, with a strong foundation in field instrumentation engineering and control systems such as DCS, ESD, and F&G.
- Hands-on experience with construction support, including FAT, SAT, and loop checks.
- Proficiency in the development of construction drawings and project documentation.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across teams.
