Essential Responsibilities
- Provide supervisory and technical oversight of Metallurgical and Calibration Laboratories
- Responsible for safe operation of laboratories.
- Ensure training and competency of laboratory personnel to required standards.
- Ensure the compliance of laboratory processes to regulatory, industry and GE standards.
- Drive continual improvement of the laboratory in quality, operational effectiveness, productivity, and cost to support business metric improvements.
- Monitor laboratories utilization and efficiency to ensure manpower optimization.
- Maintain and establish new metrology measurements accreditation per company need.
- Manage and drive quality of responsible product cells assigned.
- Engage with Operational and Engineering teams to facilitate and drive robust corrective actions to improve quality, reduce workmanship / rework losses.
- Track and monitor quality metrics (Yield, Losses, Escapes), and perform trend analysis to identify systemic improvement quality opportunities.
- Support review of technical data change, approval of process change and new product introduction.
- Perform quality auditing as necessary.
- Provide Mentoring and coaching to the team
Qualifications / Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Aerospace / Material Engineering from an accredited university or college (or equivalent)
- Minimum 8 years of experience in either calibration or metallurgy laboratory functions
- Candidate conversant with laboratory quality systems (ISO17025) has added advantage.
- Knowledge of aviation MRO 145 standards has added advantage.
