The job of an academic is challenging and meaningful. Not only will he/she have both the knowledge and working experience, he/she must also possess a passion for working with both adult and youth learners, nurturing them and influencing their developments. There will be opportunities to develop the curriculum, introduce new courses as well as be involved in consultancy and other applied industry projects. Administrative work related to teaching and School/Institutional strategic initiatives will be an important part of the job too. Successful candidates will be expected to be resourceful and innovative with initiative and good communication skills.
The appointee should be competent in teaching Taxation and Accounting modules.
[What you will be working on]
Responsibilities:-
- Conduct lessons, create teaching and assessment materials, and facilitate learning for both Pre-Employment Training (PET) and Continuing Education and Training (CET) students.
- Stay current with trends and developments in taxation, accounting standards, and related fields to keep the curriculum fresh and competitive.
- Develop, review, and maintain curriculum, ensuring it remains relevant to industry trends and standards in taxation and accounting.
- Integrate technology, such as analytics tools or emerging technologies into modules to ensure industry relevance.
- Support the School's strategic initiatives through involvement in committee work and projects, such as process improvement initiatives, course development, industry connections, and projects.
- Handle administrative work relating to teaching and school operations.
[What we are looking for]
Requirements:-
- Relevant qualification(s) in accounting.
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of professional experience, including a role(s) focused on taxation.
- Strong knowledge of current tax laws, regulations and best practices.
- Technologically savvy with high proficiency in Microsoft Excel, tax software and other relevant accounting tools. Proficiency in SQL, RPA, VBA, Power BI and/or Tableau is an added advantage.
- Self-driven, independent and capable of working effectively within a team.
- Candidates with relevant experience in training/teaching will have an added advantage.
Successful candidate will be offered a 2-year contract in the first instance.
