We are working with a prominent data centre client in their search for a talented Legal Counsel with at least 2 years of post-qualification experience (PQE). This role offers an exciting opportunity for legal professionals looking to develop their career in a rapidly growing and technically innovative industry.
Role Overview
In this role, you will develop expertise across a range of areas including construction, procurement, energy, real estate, data centre operations, and commercial contracts. You'll work closely with business stakeholders, providing practical legal advice to support strategic projects and manage legal risks. With exposure to multiple jurisdictions across the APAC region, you'll refine your legal, commercial, and negotiation skills while contributing to initiatives that enhance the efficiency of the legal team as the company scales.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and advise on various commercial contracts, ensuring that business objectives are met while managing legal risks, with oversight from senior team members.
- Offer legal guidance that aligns with both commercial interests and regulatory requirements, supporting different business departments in their decision-making processes.
- Manage relationships with external legal advisors across the APAC region, ensuring alignment with the company's needs and compliance standards.
- Immerse yourself in the company's operations and strategic goals to provide legal support that drives the business forward.
- Enhance legal and regulatory understanding within the organization by leading initiatives such as training and awareness programs.
- Collaborate with senior legal professionals to drive efficiency and improve the integration of the legal function with other parts of the business.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years PQE, ideally gained from a leading law firm or in-house legal department.
- Strong background in reviewing commercial agreements and handling multi-jurisdictional legal issues, particularly within the APAC region.
- Ability to deliver practical and commercially minded legal solutions to internal stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills with a collaborative approach to managing internal and external relationships.
- Self-driven, with a proactive attitude and eagerness to expand your knowledge of the data centre business and industry.
