Job Title: Legal Assistant (Internship)
About the Role
At Coty, a global leader in the cosmetics industry, the Commercial & Licensing legal team advises Coty's business teams on broad range of matters, including distribution agreements, licensing agreements, commercial contract negotiations, competition law, brand protection, litigation & risk management, cosmetic advertising claims, and corporate law. The role of the Legal Assistant is to provide day-to-day support to the global legal function, amongst others by drafting and reviewing legal documents, doing legal research, writing case notes and/or legal advice, and analysing/summarising (new) laws and regulations in the SEA region and other jurisdictions in the world.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
You will work alongside the legal function in Singapore and other lawyers in different functions and regions around the world. During the internship you will be mentored by an experienced lawyer. At the end of your internship, you will do a final assignment that will demonstrate your progress and learnings.
Under the guidance of the Singapore legal function, you will assist with day-to-day matters, which will include assisting with the drafting, reviewing and negotiating of a wide range of contracts, including distribution, local retail, and travel retail agreements, talent sponsorship, promotion and marketing, influencer, music, agency, e-commerce, and licensing agreements.
You will also work cross-functionally (e.g. with Marketing, Sales, Regulatory Compliance, Corporate Affairs, R&D, Procurement and Finance) where you will learn how to provide legally sound advice on a variety of marketing, finance, sales, regulatory and litigation matters.
WHAT YOULL BRING
ESSENTIAL:
(Under)graduate who can commit for at least 6 months (Jul to Dec 2024) for a full-time internship.
Currently reading law in university or any other institution of higher learning. Recent graduates are also welcome and an affinity or experience with anti-trust, privacy, corporate, consumer or IP law is a plus!
Attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to problem solve and manage competing priorities.
Strong interest in FMCG (specifically luxury products) and the how the in-house legal function supports a luxury companys business model.
Self-motivated and self-starter, with a strong work ethic and excellent ability to absorb large amounts of complex information and handle confidential matters.
Skilled in the use of MS Office tools including Outlook, Word and PowerPoint.
