The position will be in-charge of the Library's Book Club.
The primary Book Club Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Preparing the agenda for committee meetings and taking minutes
- Compiling and preparing monthly reports and relevant data for discussion
- Coordinating the procurement of books, journals and other resources, ensuring they meet the Club's needs
- Cataloguing and physically processing new book acquisitions each month
- Organizing and overseeing Book Club events such as author talks, book discussions, and the annual AGM
- Managing and maintaining the Book Club's resource collection
- Engaging with members to promote reading and gather feedback on book selections and discussions
- Answering member inquiries related to Book Club events, reading material availability and upcoming selections
- Support day-to-day operations and administration
- Addressing inquiries at the library counter, via email or over the phone
- Processing book loans and returns
- Assisting with additional library initiatives and other ad-hoc responsibilities
- Coordinating with vendors as necessary for subscriptions, acquisitions and other resource procurement
Requirements:
- Minimum diploma in related field, a degree is advantageous
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills and a passion for reading and promoting literature
- Ability to work scheduled shifts, including weekends and public holidays
- Service-oriented, with practical written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- A high level of digital and information literacy
