Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Locum ABA Therapist to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will implement Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques and interventions to support children with diverse behavioural and developmental needs. This position provides an opportunity to make a significant impact in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

1) Conduct functional assessments to identify the behavioural needs of each child and develop individualized ABA intervention plans.

2) Implement evidence-based ABA strategies to promote positive behaviour changes and skill acquisition across various settings.

3) Collect and analyze data to monitor progress and effectiveness of interventions, adjusting strategies as necessary.

4) Collaborate closely with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary team members to provide training and support in implementing ABA techniques at home and in community settings.

5) Lead group therapy sessions focusing on social skills, communication, and self-regulation using ABA principles.

6) Provide guidance and support to classroom staff on effective behaviour management techniques and strategies.

7) Maintain detailed and accurate records of therapy sessions, progress notes, and treatment plans.

8) Stay current with developments in ABA practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of therapeutic services offered at the Centre.

Preferred Qualifications

1) A degree in Psychology, Special Education, or a related field, with relevant certification in Applied Behavior Analysis (e.g., BCBA or BCaBA).

2) Proven experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental challenges.

3) Strong understanding of ABA principles and techniques, with the ability to apply them effectively in real-world settings.

4) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to engage and motivate children and their families.

5) Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and adapt to varying therapeutic environments.

6) A passion for enhancing the lives of children and their families through evidence-based behavioural interventions.
