- Dispensing Medications: They prepare and give out prescription medicines to patients.
- Advice and Counseling: They provide advice on how to take medicines safely and answer patient questions.
- Managing Stock: Locum pharmacists help manage the pharmacy's inventory and ensure medicines are available.
- Temporary Work: They work on short-term contracts, often in community pharmacies, hospitals, or clinics.
Job Requirements
- Qualification: You need a Pharmacy degree (e.g., MPharm or equivalent) and a valid pharmacy license.
- Licensing: You must be registered with the relevant regulatory body (like the Pharmaceutical Society of Singapore or General Pharmaceutical Council in the UK).
- Experience: Most locum pharmacists have prior experience working as a regular pharmacist.
