Being part of the Singtel Group Risk Management (GRM), the role provides support to the development and advisory of Risk Management to Business Units in Singtel.
Make An Impact By
Risk Management
- Facilitating the preparation/update of the associated risk registers and relevant risk reports which identify and assess the key risks that the Business Units are facing.
- Ensuring that inherent and residual risks are identified, tracked, monitored and addressed in an effective and coherent manner.
- Performing risk assessments of the various Business Units based on the risks identified.
- Review of material contracts and assessing risks of deviations from standard contractual positions.
- Review of internal risk management controls and development of appropriate risk treatment plans to adequately and effectively respond to the risks.
Risk Governance
- Ensuring the continued relevance of risk management policies and protocols through periodic reviews and strategic updates.
- Educating and coordinating between key stakeholders on risk management strategies and activities
- Proactively driving risk management practices in the Business Units including, but not limited to strategic, financial, technology, operational and compliance risks.
- Participation in relevant risk management subcommittees or discussions.
- Proactive data-driven evaluation of existing risk management processes and workflows to ensure effective minimalism and relevance.
Business Continuity Management
- Support BU Risk Director in BCM activities and work collaboratively with the other team members within GRM, Business Unit and functions responsible for Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BC&DR) to ensure comprehensive and effective BC&DR plans and practices, and crisis exercises and reviews.
- Support BCM Lead to provide expert advice to management and relevant committees / working groups on BC&DRP and associated risk issues over critical assets and during major incidents or crisis.
- Respond swiftly to major incidents impacting the BUs which require management intervention / input at an early stage (i.e. crisis management) in order that a full-scale crisis does not eventuate.
- Facilitate or conduct training on business continuity and ensure regular testing of BC&DRPs by business units and functions assist in conducting crisis exercises.
- To conduct crisis exercises to test readiness of senior executives and business units and functions in dealing with crisis.
- To contribute to the Singtel Group BCM Programme documents (such as the BCM Policy, Crisis Management Policy, templates etc) and provide perspective from BUs.
- Work with the BU Risk Director to identify and close gaps (if any) in BCM for the various Business Units.
- To track and report BU BCM activities.
- To collaborate with other related business units to ensure alignment of business priorities against crisis and business continuity responses, and company business recovery plan training, communication and execution.
Risk Management and Governance
- To correlate the Risk and BCM activities with key risk scenarios relevant to critical business functions to ensure a cohesive approach to Risk Management and BCM activities.
- To ensure holistic management of key risks by the BUs including controls assurance, key risk indicators and adherence to frameworks and best practices.
- To ensure continuity in managing Risks from a BCM perspective, including but not limited to managing and tracking incidents, crises, BIA/BCPs and other BCM requirements.
Other Responsibilities
- To support the Risk team in projects as and when required
Skills For Success
- Degree in IT or Engineering or any related fields.
- More than 5 years of risk management, consulting, financial or auditing work experience.
- Experience in working in challenging business environment with proven capabilities in organizing, summarizing and presenting complex information.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in risk management and/or business continuity management
- Risk Management & control concepts (i.e standards (e.g. ISO 31000, COSO)).
- Analytical and critical thinking.
- A strong team player with positive attitude.
- Highly driven, autonomous and resilient.
- Good communication (oral, written) and presentation skills
- Excellent stakeholder and people management
- Enjoy working in a dynamic and multi-cultural team and business environment.
- In-depth understanding of the telecommunications / ICT industry. These include the technology risks, competition and transformation developments in the telecommunications/ ICT industry, environmental risks, regulatory risks etc.
