About Logistics & Supply Chain Management (LSCM)
The Logistics & Supply Chain Management division plays the role of an industry architect to develop and execute strategies that position Singapore as the globally leading logistics hub where leading logistics service providers and air express integrators set-up regional headquarters, best-in-class facilities and innovation capabilities to execute their clients logistics fulfilment needs. Aside from developing the logistics sector to enable key economic activities including manufacturing, trade and domestic resilience needs, LSCM also works closely with Beneficial Cargo Owners (BCOs) to develop a world class supply chain ecosystem in Singapore where BCOs set-up their supply chain teams to orchestrate regional and global supply chains.
The team engages in a range of activities from industry studies, research and statistical analysis to develop and execute strategies for industry development , industry promotion campaigns and account management. LSCM partners a wide range of leaders and stakeholders from across the public and private sectors to jointly develop and implement strategies across the ecosystem.
The official title for this role will be Manager.
[What you will be working on]
Strategy Development And Execution
- Conduct in-depth analysis of global trends, including those pertaining to technology, business models, regulations and skills to derive relevant insights and implications for Singapore's logistics and supply chain ecosystem development strategies
- Design and develop value propositions and programmes to encourage companies from various logistics subsectors (e.g. freight forwarding, contract logistics, last mile delivery) to set up relevant headquarters / business activities in Singapore, through working closely with other teams in EDB and relevant external partners in government and industry
- Implement strategies, policy changes and relevant industry development programmes, through working closely with internal stakeholders and industry and government agency partners
Account Management
- You shall serve as the main EDB contact person to a portfolio of identified corporate clients and oversee end-to-end process of account development, project negotiation and execution, and client servicing
- Cultivate strategic relationships and build trust with clients. Adhere to EDB's service principles to ensure good client experience with EDB
- Develop deep understanding of clients, their needs, operations, and structure to develop/ refresh client engagement strategies
- Identify, negotiate and structure project opportunities to secure win-win outcomes for clients and Singapore
- Offer solutions (standard/ customised) to address clients requests/ issues/ challenges
- Activate relevant resources and expertise (in EDB/ government/ ecosystem partners) to support client engagement
- Build sound understanding of regional/ global industry and business trends, industry synergies, whole-of-government offerings, and spread of EDB's products and services to create project opportunities and value-add to client relationships
[What we are looking for]
To Meet The Challenges Of This Role, You Possess
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience in a strategy, policy, research, industry development or relevant industry (e.g. logistics, supply chain management) role
- Excellent analytical and conceptual thinking, high learning agility - able to structure analysis for complex / ambiguous issues, use qualitative and quantitative data to make sense of new subject matter to distil insights and actionable solutions
- Keen business acumen able to identify opportunities for Singapore at an industry level
- Excellent project management and leadership skills able to work in cross-functional project teams, manage multiple workstreams, and deliver outcomes effectively and efficiently
- Excellent written and oral communication skills able to communicate ideas clearly and succinctly
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills able to engage and influence internal and external stakeholders at all levels of seniority
- Adaptable able to identify and respond quickly to changes in the business environment and changes in priorities
- Good team player and an independent thinker
- Experience in quantitative analysis will be an advantage
