Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Marine Manager to oversee all aspects of our marine operations. The ideal candidate will possess a Class 1 Certificate of Competency (CoC), a strong command of maritime regulations, a proven track record in vessel management, and extensive experience working with oil majors.

Responsibilities

. Operational Excellence:

Plan, direct, and coordinate all marine operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with industry best practices.

Optimize vessel schedules and deployments to maximize productivity and profitability.

Oversee cargo operations, bunkering, and port calls, ensuring smooth and timely execution.

. Compliance and Safety:

Ensure full compliance with all relevant local and international maritime regulations, including those of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA).

Implement and maintain a robust safety management system (SMS) in accordance with the International Safety Management (ISM) Code.

Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify and mitigate potential risks.

Oversee investigations into any incidents or accidents, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Specifically ensure adherence to oil major safety protocols and best practices.

. Team Development:

Identify the training needs of the Marine Management team.

Identify and implement training programs to enhance skills, promote continuous improvement, and ensure staff are kept abreast of new regulations and industry initiatives.

Requirements

  • Class 1 Certificate of Competency (CoC) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in ship management, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Experience working with oil majors is preferred.
  • In-depth understanding of international maritime conventions and regulations, including SOLAS, MARPOL, and the ISM Code.
  • Extensive experience working with oil majors, demonstrating a strong understanding of their specific safety and operational requirements.
  • Must possess a relevant chemical tanker certification OR have substantial experience in the safe handling of chemical cargoes.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
