General Overview
This position reports to Supervisor (Marine Operations) and assisting him/her in ensuring safe, reliable and efficient ship-shore operations, inclusive of interfaces activities for JTJ, STS & FSRU and FSU services.
The incumbent will oversee the maintenance of marine equipment, monitoring the contractors appointed for marine activities and screen LNG ship for SLNG's acceptance prior to ship arrival.
The incumbent shall also undertake the Loading Master function as required.
Roles and ResponsibilIties
The incumbent shall be responsible for, but not limited to the following responsibilities:
- Responsible in preparing vessels berthing schedule & plans and communicate with all interested parties involved for ship-shore operations.
- Act as Loading Master (Terminal representative onboard vessels), and responsible for ensuring safe berthing and smooth cargo transfer operations.
- Ensure documents between ship-shore including LNG surveyor's reports are accurate and consistent as per the procedures.
- Be part of the terminal's emergency response member as dictated by Terminal's Emergency Response Plan.
- Assist in ensuring maintenances for marine equipment are completed in timely manner.
- Assist in review maintenance and service contracts, and they were executed safely and diligently.
- Complete the compatibility and acceptance review of all prospective vessels as per SLNG's procedures / checklist.
- Track and replenish consumable items for jetty operations.
- Prepare routine updates, reports and statistics of ship-shore operations.
- Comply to document control process for the marine operations.
- Track vessels and customers feedbacks, complaints, letter of protest. Support in closure actions as necessary.
- Take an active role in HSSE activities, capability development, productivity and efficiency objectives.
- Take on additional tasks as directed by Supervisor.
Work experience / Knowledge
- At least 2 years working experience on tanker vessels as an Officer involves in navigations, maintenance and cargo operations
- Candidate who has previously worked on similar role in Oil and Gas Terminals, Shipping and/or Marine Industry with 5 years working experience can be considered.
- Knowledge on ship shore interface, effective mooring, LNG transfer, cargo documentations and safe practices in Marine, Oil & Gas industries.
- General knowledge of international organization such as OCIMF, SIGTTO etc.
Education / Qualification
- Certificate of Competency (CoC) as watch keeping officer from reputable Flag State.
- In lieu of CoC, Diploma in Maritime or Shipping related studies can be considered.
- Good written and spoken English
- Good level of IT understanding
