Description:
. Manage all assigned vessels on day-to-day Marine functions in close cooperation with the fleet team.
. Responsible for delivery on safety, security and environmental performance on assigned vessels.
. Fulfil responsibilities of CSO and Alt DPA for assigned vessels.
. Ensure readiness of assigned ships for PSC/Right ship and customer inspection.
. Ensure effective close out of all non-conformances, observations, deficiencies resulting from Internal or external inspection/audits on assigned vessels.
. Monitor ships as required through audits, inspections or routine visits as required.
. Assist with incident investigation and root cause analysis as required by manager, closing out deficiencies, making recommendations and putting in place preventive measures.
. Assess the operational risks from a marine/navigational perspective for assigned vessels.
. Responsible for briefing and debriefing crew of assigned vessels on Marine matters.
. Actively participate in the development of the quality management system and engage in the process for the continuous improvement of departmental procedures
. Conduct crew training/familiarization
Job Requirements:
. Sailing experience of 2 years as Master, on Ocean going Container/Bulk Carriers trading world wide
. 1-2 years on shore as Marine Superintendent
. Familiar with ISM codes/ISPS/MARPOL/MLC and other maritime regulation
