Job brief
We are looking for a Fulltime marketing person, AND a Fulltime management trainee, who can bring our BEAT. Hostel brand to greater heights. If you join as a marketer, you'll be spending time on Tiktok, Canva, CapCut, etc. If you join as a management trainee, you'll level up in your leadership and operations prowess, while having the time of your life. After all, we're a Backpacker Hostel, so of course you'll meeting people from all over the world.
Responsibilities
There are some basic responsibilities that is required for both positions. You should be able to do Front Desk duties - check in, check out, communicate professionally, hold a conversation, handle admin, etc. Beyond these basic tasks, your responsibilities are as follows:
Marketing role
- Social media management, planning and coming up with content to engage with our target customers
- Video content creation: Ideally you have some experience with this, but if not, we can assess your creativity
- Graphic design and printing: Creating posters and communications within our property
- Organizing events: Work with our team to create unique experiences for our guests
- Website managements: These include our own website, and our listings on Agoda, Booking.com, Traveloka etc.
- Reviews management: Respond to reviews and seek ways to improve our branding and guest experience.
- Environment and Social: Explore ways to improve our carbon footprint and social outreach.
Management Trainee
- You'll be involved in the responsibilities listed above, but from a strategic perspective.
- Operations: Ensure smooth running of the hostels, which includes guests, housekeeping, maintenance, etc.
- Revenue management: Ensure pricing and occupancy levels are healthy and competitive.
- Accounts, administration, and customer service: As a management trainee, we will work with your strengths and gradually expose you to work on these areas.
- Special projects: Depending on new projects that we embark on, you will be involved in the respective work such as design, renovation, negotiations, etc. (Currently we have two ongoing projects, one in Bangkok, and a new project in Singapore).
Requirements
- There is no specific requirement, except for a desire/openness to work in a Backpacker Hostel environment.
- Related experiences will be a plus.
Other information
- Expected salary: $2500-3200. (Negotiable)
- Possible shift work (Negotiable)

- Special Projects: We are near-complete on a new hostel outlet in Bangkok, and we are just embarking on a new project in Singapore.
