Job Purpose
To plan materials required for production and prototype builds, coordinate and communicate detailed production planning and material requirements. Ensures goods manufactured are produced in a cost-effective way that meets quality specifications.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Working from blueprint to determine the raw materials needed to produce the products
- Prepare and maintain material schedule
- Prepare documents needed for production
- Prioritizes job-orders for production optimization
- Tracks the progress of goods as they are being manufactured to ensure they remain on schedule
- Provide material order administration support
- Work to get production problems resolved and involve others in problem solving
- Liaise with sales division to determine customer requirements
- Predicts how long a project will take to complete
- Develops a production schedule detailing all tasks and when they should be completed by to meet predicted completion date
- Monitor project's progress to ensure it's following the schedule
