Mechanical Design Management
- Prepares key project documentation, related FEED documentation, purchasing specification, TBE and VCD for topside equipment or mechanical package and participates in GA study, system highway planning, material handling and 3D modelling for developing mechanical layout
- Prepares project requirement specification, detailing plans and other engineering data for mechanical layout design using engineering common network, software and tools under the supervision of senior team members
- Participates in project meeting to review deliverables and attends to basic technical queries and issues related to mechanical design (i.e.BOM, system specification, function descriptions, installation and etc.)
- Liaises with owners, statutory and classification authorities on mechanical layout approval for topside equipment or mechanical package and compliance review
- Generates reports on work progress for senior team member's review and approval before submitting to stakeholders, and responsible to maintain project database for future references
Mechanical Design Analysis and Solutions
- Coordinates with other engineering team members, subcontractors and consultants on technical studies (i.e.GA studies) to develop foundation for equipment systems and sub-systems for the proposed mechanical design
- Works with Procurement and project team members to source for mechanical subcontractors and vendors to comply with technical requirements and project specifications
- Prepares detailed mechanical design, equipment selection, arrangement and positioning based on GA Plan, P&ID diagram, and schematic diagrams for the procurement of main equipment
- Generates detailed calculations, analysis and solutions for mechanical design to deliver safe, secure and fully functional systems based on customer's safety and reliability standards with supervision from senior team members
- Provides updates to commercial, production and project team members on all aspects of mechanical engineering to support yard's machineries installation, testing and commissioning activities
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/ Marine or related engineering disciplines
- 3 years of working experience for Mechanical Layout Engineer (Marine and/or Topside module), with experience in preparing related FEED document, GA study, system highway planning, layout arrangement, material handling & 3D modelling
- Excellent proficiency in English (written and spoken)
- Advanced user of Microsoft Office products, AutoCAD, STAAD and Adobe Acrobat
- Some knowledge and experience in rotating and/ or static marine equipment for topside package
- Experience in heat radiation analysis CFD analysis will be an added advantage
- Possesses ability to interact with vendors on specialised mechanical designs (e.g.turret bearing, burner boom, GTG, dual fuel engines on LNG/Diesel fuel and etc.)
- Some working knowledge and experience in mechanical design troubleshooting
