You will be the resource person for laboratory information systems for Diagnostic Lab Medicine at TTSH. The duties include :
- Providing satisfactory technical and application support to users.
- Responding to hardware and software issues, investigates and identifies the issues, follows up appropriately to resolve the issues, and implements preventive measures.
- Extracting data from the information systems
- Liaising with vendors and IHIS, coordinating with other institutions LIS staff & working closely with the lab users on change requests.
- Validates and ensures that data transfer from LIS to downstream systems is accurate and timely.
- Verifies the integrity of the LIS after restoration of data files.
- Coordinates software and hardware upgrades, and LIS patch upgrades.
- Assists to review LIS access with respective Section Leaders to ensure that the user IDs in LIS are up-to-date.
- Ensures that all requests for change in the LIS are traceable and documented. Provides after-hour support.
- Performs daily and periodic maintenance of the laboratory information systems as required to ensure proper functioning of the systems, and follows up appropriately on any system malfunction.
- Performs costing, and evaluation and procurement of IT related software and hardware.
- Reviews the billing reconciliation reports for the accuracy of bill adjustments performed by the Patient Service Associates, and the BTS / HCLL billing forms.
- Follows up appropriately on any billing issues by raising online adjustment/waiver forms or liaising with the clinics.
- Provides backup support for the billing of internal and external clients.
- Monitors the performance of the LIS in terms of frequency of downtime and response time, follow up with necessary investigations and corrective actions.
- Participate actively in quality improvement projects
- Any other ad hoc assignments by the Section Leader
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Lab Medicine, Clinical Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Technology, Biological Sciences, Biotechnology or Life Sciences
- Min 3 years of experience as Medical Laboratory Technologist in a clinical laboratory with special interest in LIS/IT
- Office hours (Non shift), Alternate Saturdays (AM)
- The role will be a 1 year renewable contract (convertible to regular employment)
