Medpace Reference Laboratories (MRL) plays a pivotal role in research-based drug development within the pharmaceutical industry. Due to our recent growth, we are in need of a qualified and focus-driven Medical Technologist (Histo) / Histo-technician in Singapore. The incumbent is expected to perform complex procedures within the Histopathology Laboratory, including routine histotechnology, H&E stain, special stains, immunohistochemistry (IHC) and in-situ hybridization (ISH) stains, as well as other duties as assigned. The candidate must be capable of completing assigned tasks in a timely manner using standard operating procedures and techniques established by the laboratory.
Responsibilities
- Perform clinical sample management (accessioning), tissue processing, embedding, FFPE sectioning, and staining
- Possess knowledge of and experience with routine stains (e.g. H&E), special stains (e.g. Trichrome , PAS, reticulin, etc) as well as specific IHC/ISH stains following protocols according to global SOPs
- Participate in assay validation activities, experimental design, instrument set-up (IQ/OQ/PQ) and audits
- Knowledge of clinical trial processes and procedures, including federal and local regulations preferred, but not required
- Ensure accuracy and scientific validity of laboratory data reported
- Contribute to maintaining a Quality Control/Quality Assurance and Quality Management environment
- Maintain overview of reagent and tissue inventories and
- Comply with Good Clinical Practices (GCP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
Qualifications
- Min 2 years of experience in a diagnostic histology laboratory performing tissue processing, tissue embedding, sectioning, slide preparation, H&E and special staining, IHC/ISH, and process troubleshooting required and
- Min 2 years of experience in a high throughput diagnostic laboratory production environment using LIMS, Data Management systems, automatic tissue processing systems, and automated H&E/IHC stainers preferred, but not required
- Clinical trial or central reference laboratory experience preferred, but not required
