Job Summary
Fugro is excited to offer a new opportunity for a Metocean Modeller to join our team in Singapore. We are seeking a skilled professional to enhance our metocean modelling capabilities and support our commitment to excellence in our services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in numerical modelling, with primary responsibilities including the development and management of site-specific metocean models.
About the role
Develop, calibrate, and validate site-specific metocean numerical models.
Analyze and interpret metocean data to support design and engineering solutions for offshore and nearshore projects.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate model outputs into broader project frameworks.
Prepare detailed reports and presentations on model findings and recommendations.
Stay updated with the latest advancements in metocean modelling techniques and tools.
Prepare technical and commercial proposals, write reports, and manage projects as required.
About you
Masters degree in Oceanography, Meteorology, or a related discipline is essential; a PhD is preferred.
Three to five years of experience using metocean modelling software, including SWAN, WAVEWATCHIII, Delft3D, HYCOM, or WRF.
Knowledge of data assimilation techniques is advantageous.
Proficiency in writing technical scripts in MATLAB and Python.
Experience working in a Linux HPC environment.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
Familiarity with AWS is a plus.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
