Thales Singapore Engineering Competence Centre (ECC) is a well-established R&D and engineering centre serving major customers worldwide in Digital Identity and Security domains ranging from mobile connectivity, IoT, banking & payment to government solutions.
You will be working with a group of developers on tasks related to mobile security libraries, which is used by mobile teams in the different business lines. These SDKs are important to ensure that the security of the various industrial mobile applications has lower risks of being compromised.
Responsibilities:
- Perform testing and/or coding on mobile security libraries (requires coding skills) with experienced developers
- Brainstorm and participate in various process improvement discussions, and implement improvement plans to make validation/overall process more efficient and streamlined
- Participate in, and understand the complete project software lifecycle (i.e. work on development, testing, documentation and release in an agile process)
- Expose and learn mobile security domain
- Expose to different programming languages/ technologies depending on the tasks assigned
Requirements:
- Interest in mobile and/ or mobile security domain
- Strong problem solving skills and willingness to learn new knowledge
- Proficient in one or more of the following: Java, Android, Objective C, C (preferred)
- Flexible and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Able to adapt to working on different topics/technologies
- Team player, independent, motivated, proactive, good problem solver, energetic and possess good analytical skills
- Comfortable working both alone or as a team with a mentor guidance, if required
- Commitment: Able to commit on a full-time basis for ideally 6 months (or a minimum of 5 months) OR part-time basis (minimum 3 days/week) but for an extended period
Learning Outcomes:
- Experience and learn about the complete industrial software lifecycle and apply the scrum (agile) methodology
- Exposure to the mobile security domain and on the different mobile platforms (i.e. iOS, Android and Windows).
- An opportunity to work with experienced developers to learn proper engineering skills and software lifecycle, and exposure to various day-to-day challenges in the real software industry
