We Are Looking For
As the Network Engineer, you will be reporting to the Senior Operations Manager and be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the operational integrity of the Data Center cable network. You play a critical role in ensuring uninterrupted communication and data transmission across international regions through the Data Center infrastructure.
- Monitor, resolve and update all Operations-assigned service tickets (trouble tickets and customer request, installations of electrical and physical equipment) using PDG's ticketing system
- Installation and termination of all copper and fibre cross-connects, as well as to gathering of requirements, designing, labelling, testing and documentation
- Be informed and up to date on policies and procedures in the ServiceNow knowledge base, RunSmart OS etc.
- Proactively identify issues that require resolution, opening tickets for maintenance and taking the needed steps to get it done
- Ensure environment's safety and cleanliness
- Operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions in facilities system
- Work closely with vendors, field technicians, and telecommunications service providers to resolve service issues and improvements
- Escort clients, vendors, and contractors to various onsite locations
- Ensure physical security of data centre, building, and occupants by maintaining site security protocols, badging requirements and data protection procedures
Qualities You Should Have
- Diploma / ITE in Network or Computer Engineering
- Minimum 2 to 5 years experience in Network Architecture understanding
- Able to work in a 12-hour rotating shift work schedule
- Prior experience in managing contractors (technical and soft services) and Technicians
